Commuters who carpool, vanpool, take an express bus, ride the COASTER, or bike to work three or more times a week have a safety net with the Guaranteed Ride Home program.

This SANDAG program will provide you with a taxi or rental car if you have one of the following situations: 

• Personal or family illness or emergency
• Unscheduled overtime (with a supervisor’s approval)
• Stranded at work due to your carpool or vanpool driver leaving

The program can be used up to three times per enrollment year by registered participants for only a $3 co-pay. You will get a ride home in a taxi or rental car depending on how far away you live from work.

To register, sign up for iCommute and click on Commute Services. Once registered, log in to iCommute and click on Commute Services to redeem your voucher. Specific instructions to redeem your voucher are provided.
